He was also a director of the Triumph Cycle Co., served Coventry city council for 3 years, was later elected County magistrate and was one of the original founders of the Jewish synagogue in Barras Lane. Annie was an active campaigner for votes for women in the city, joining Coventry Women's Suffrage Society - the local branch of the law abiding National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies (NUWSS) led by Mrs Millicent Fawcett. Annie's family were clearly supportive of female suffrage too as on occasion she was accompanied to meetings by both her mother Nora and her father Alfred. Researcher: Tara Morton.
