Alice was a teacher in a county council school and boarded with another county school teacher and his wife and three children. Although Alice complied with the 1911 census, she must have referred to the WFL as it was noted by the enumerator. In a 1914 copy of The Vote, Alice is listed as taking the chair at a London meeting of the WFL. For more information see, Jennifer Godfrey, Suffragettes of Kent, (Pen & Sword Ltd, 2019).
